G99 Taiwan Ring Expressway
Taiwan Ring Expressway () is a proposed, hypothetical expressway encircling the island of Taiwan as part of the National Trunk Highway System of the People's Republic of China. It is currently not in existence and hypothetical due to the political status of Taiwan. The People's Republic of China claims control over Taiwan while it is currently administered and controlled by the Republic of China. Taiwan has its own highway system and does not recognize the designation by the People's Republic of China.
According to the People's Republic of China, the expressway would pass through the cities of Taipei, Hsinchu, Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Taitung, Hualian, Yilan, Keelung, before returning to Taipei.〔(G99 台湾环线 )〕
The route of the expressway is currently designated, as a part of Taiwan's highway system, as (counterclockwise from Taipei):
* 20px National Highway No. 1 from Taipei to Kaohsiung along the western coast
* 20px Provincial Highway No. 1 from Kaohsiung to Fangshan
* 20px Provincial Highway No. 9 from Fangshan to Luodong
* 20px National Highway No. 5 from Luodong to Taipei〔Keelung is not part of this route. It is part of the route proposed by the People's Republic of China.〕
Taiwan has not built the eastern coast portion of this route, from Kaohsiung to Luodong, as an expressway.
